DESCRIPTION:
1972 Chevrolet Camaro SS, 396 (402) 4-Speed, 1 of approx. 300 cars built! This car has had a recent ground up restoration. Under 1500 miles on the rebuild. This car was made to be a daily driver or weekend warrior. The rear quarters, rocker panels, floors, front fenders, trunk pan, etc are all in great condition. The body was taken down to bare metal, and painted right (car was painted while disassembled, all jambs look great). The paint was mixed in the correct lacquer form to get the color accurate, then the lacquer paint was spectrum-analyzed to make a base/clear color match, so it is NOT the pewter metallic found on the more recent GM vehicles. All chrome and trim were reconditioned or replaced; front and rear bumpers, rocker moldings, emblems, windshield moldings, etc. Interior was mostly reconditioned as well: New carpet, seat covers front and back, new package tray, dash is in great shape. Has original AM/FM radio faceplate, but has hidden marine unit in trunk with iPod hood up, very nice! The door panels are in good shape as well with no speaker holes. The headliner and visors look like well kept original. The weather-stripping and rubber seals are all new. Engine compartment is very clean. Trunk compartment is very clean as well. M21 Wide Ratio 4-Speed, Power Steering, Power 4-Wheel Disc Brakes, Correct 14 code Pewter Silver Metallic (not Cortez Silver), Correct Black Vinyl high-back bucket seat interior. THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL, RARE, HIGHLY SOUGHT-AFTER CAMARO, and should be an excellent investment for ANY Classic Car enthusiast. Out of approx.

Camaro SS 396s, I have been told there were only 300 4-speed cars built, and Im not sure how many were Pewter Silver, but I have only heard of a handful. For anyone who loves the 1 1 Camaros, this is the right car, with the right options, and the right color! A little history (and useful information): For those of you who do not know, 1972 was the LAST year for the Camaro Super Sport (until 1996), and the LAST year ever for a big block engine in a Camaro! Due to the strike at the GM assembly plant, 1972 was an extremely low production year. 1972 is the first year Chevrolet designated a code in the VIN for the engine, which makes Z28s, SS350s, and SS396s easily distinguished. The trim tag on the cowl also shows the Z27 RPO (Super Sport Option), as well as the LS3 RPO (402ci0-240hp Engine). UNLIKE 1, A 1972 CAMARO SS DOCUMENTS ITSELF... even without a build sheet or protect-o-plate. There are no stripes on this car as you see on others. A true "SS" never had them. That was for the Z-28 model. ENGINE NUMBERS: The legible numbers on the block are the casting code (3969854) and a CLA stamping. After doing a little research I learned that the CLA stamping was on all 71-72 Camaro or Chevelle SS 396s with a 4 speed. I am not representing this car as numbers matching or to have the original engine by any means, but the engine is correct for the car. ENGINE: The 396/402 engine was originally rated at 240hp (with 8.5:1 compression). The motor has been completely professionally rebuilt with all new performance parts. Some of the highlights are: 11 to 1 compression with forged Keith Black one off custom pistons, full hydraulic roller rocker setup including hydraulic roller lifters, hydraulic roller custom camshaft, hydraulic roller rocker arms and hardened 3/8 pushrods. Fully ported and polished custom aluminum heads. Custom Barry Grant Carburetor with regulator and electric choke. Custom dual electric fan with thermostatic control. MSD distributor, MSD spark control ignition with rev limiter and launch control along with MSD ignition wires. The motor was dynod at 455hp (I have dyno sheet). TRANSMISSION: Muncie M-21 4-Speed (aluminum case, wide-ratio). New fully built Muncie Transmission with complete rear end rebuilt with 3.08 rear gears and Eaton Posi Traction. The gears, syncros, and linkage all work great together. EXHAUST: Doug Thorley headers with 3 custom X-Pipe and tubing. BRAKES/SUSPENSION: All New 4-Wheel Disc Brakes (calipers, rotors, pads, R
